of Overseas Dentists:

Requirements for Overseas Dentists:

All practicing dentists MUST be registered with the GDC and have indemnity appropriate to their role.

Dentists qualified in the EEA will have recognition in the UK until the end of December 2022. For those qualified outside of the EEA you will need to sit an Overseas Recognised Exam (ORE) OR Licence in Dental Surgery (LDS) exam.

English Language: Dentists qualifying from overseas need to demonstrate an accepted command of the English Language. This is demonstrated through IELTS certification, which has to be current within the past 2 years. For further details please see link below:

Courses may be arranged through International House or British Council.

Upon successful registration with the GDC you may then practice dentistry in the UK on a private or independent basis. However to work as an NHS dentist you must apply for an NHS performer number and undergo a period of mentorship at the practice where you work. The exact conditions of your mentorship are determined by NHS England on an individual case-by-case basis.

Our friendly team will them contact you to discuss your requirements, expectations and aspirations.

We will contact you for a more formal interview when suitable positions become available to discuss the available roles in greater detail. This also gives you the opportunity to visit the practice and meet the team.

If successful you will receive a letter of offer and contract outlining terms and conditions of the role. Once all signed you will receive practice orientation and induction training to assist your introduction to the practice. Ongoing support clinical (from the Clinical Director) and admin (from the practice and area management team) is on-going to enable you optimise your potential and achieve your goals and aspirations.
