Dental Receptionists work at the ‘front line’ of dental practices. They are the first point of contact prior to and upon arrival at the practice. You will be welcoming and booking in new patients, scheduling appointments and undertaking other non-clinical, administrative tasks to ensure the clinician’s day books run smoothly.
Welcoming and assisting patients with enquiries, corresponding directly with them (phone, email, text, in person)
To ensure the smooth running of the appointment book and ensuring any outstanding payments are followed-up.
Using a diary/computerised diary system to schedule / re-schedule appointments and forward book recalls.
Organise and maintain optimised appointment books for clinician efficiency as per Company policies
General administration tasks necessary to support bookings and payment receipts etc (e.g. photocopying, scanning, faxing, printing and sorting/filing/sending forms).
Handling patient payment (cash, cards and cheques).

Able to adapt to change e.g. change in appointment diary structuring etc

You should have a professional, caring, friendly confident approach to work, colleagues and patients. It’s important to be understanding, as you could be dealing with people who might be very nervous or in a lot of pain.
Customer service training would be beneficial
Previous experience working in dental practice an advantage
